why is evangelism often such a dreaded thing to do? is it the fact that over the years evangelism as an activity got a bad rap from a few misguided believers who deeply offended and scarred people, or is it the fact that evangelism entails talking to a complete stranger at random about some of the deepest issues in life all within a span of five minutes? whatever the case (probably both), evangelism is still a nerve racking adventure to say the least. then why do it? of course, there’s a range of answers. because the bible commands. because the gospel was meant to be shared. but i would like to say over all these things, the reason why we do evangelism is very much like the reason why we share with everyone when we watch a really good movie. "the gospel is so good, you gotta check it out!” kinda deal.

my friend from school said, 'getting rejected by someone about the gospel is the same emotion as getting rejected by that one girl you like in jr. high.' true. but, i guess the biggest trick to pull off is to actually get to a point where it's not about our emotions or feelings, but about getting to the far more intense emotion God has for all people who have yet to make a decision for Christ.
